Training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Safe Standards What to expect Before your training session Where to register Additional resources - inclusion and culture Additional resources - racism and white privilege Additional resources - education and pedagogy Additional resources - video What to expect This two-part training program will focus on ways your organisation can meet Child Safe Standards 1 and 2, and establish a culturally safe environment at every level for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Standard 1 Organisations establish a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal children and young people are respected and valued. Standard 2Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture. The first session is suitable for all members of your organisation and runs for two hours online. You will receive an overview of the worldviews, culture, generational trauma and history that need to be incorporated in your practices. The second session will be for leaders of your organisation, to follow up on the actions you've taken to improve cultural safety. You will receive an evaluation to complete before you can participate in the second session.
