News and events News Houses score big with Pick My Project Tuesday 2 October 2018 The votes have been counted, the Pick My Project results are in - and it's an amazing result for our sector! 10 neighbourhood houses have received a combined total of over $1.1 million in State Government funding to deliver a diverse range of projects for their local communities. Pick My Project is a $30 million community grants initiative empowering Victorians to come up with project ideas that will help make their local community an even better place to live, then vote for their favourite project ideas to be funded. The successful projects have developed project plans and signed funding agreements with the State Government. They will now start working to deliver their projects across the state. Projects will complete at various times over the coming months, up until June 2020. Congratulations to these neighbourhood houses: Brentwood Park Neighbourhood House Casey Community Gardens and Community Centre Food Share - $200,000 South Barwon Community Centre Transition Streets Geelong - $150,000 Park Orchards Community House and Learning Centre New space for children’s play, adults connecting and learning– $170,000 Koonung Cottage Community House Dementia café initiative - $75,500 Wonthaggi Neighbourhood Centre at Mitchell House Rail Trail Illumination Project - $198,429 Manna Gum Community House Pearl Park Community Festival - $27,825 Kensington Neighbourhood House Kensington Mental Health Support Group - $23,520 Castlemaine Community House Disability access for regional swimming pools - $36,000 SPAN Community House Compost depot project - $200,000 Brunswick Neighbourhood House Brunswick food forest - $59,738 More than 230 local organisations have received funding - visit the Pick My Project website to see the successful projects.
