Victoria Alive

With support from the State Government, we partnered with Volunteering Victoria to deliver the Victoria Alive project.

This year-long research and awareness-raising project aimed to increase the capacity of community-based organisations to make their volunteering programs more inclusive for people with disability.

We conducted a survey of 167 organisations including Neighbourhood Houses, Men’s Sheds, local councils, health providers and other not-for-profits to identify the barriers they experienced and the types of resources they required to improve their inclusivity.

A working group of people with lived experience of disability was created to inform the outcomes of the project.

The Victoria Alive project concluded in September 2019 and achieved:

  • five regional forums and a Leader’s Breakfast
  • produced several best-practice guides and resources
  • an online micro-credential course
  • the #WeAreAble social media campaign

For more information and to download resources, visit the Victoria Alive website.
