Networks

Neighbourhood Houses in Victoria are grouped into 16 regional networks.

The purpose of a network is to:

  • facilitate regional collaboration on issues, needs and projects
  • provide individual support and resourcing to houses
  • represent and advocate on regional issues and needs to Neighbourhood Houses Victoria, and local and state governments

Each network employs a Network Manager who carries out these functions.

Networks range in size from 229.5 km² in Melbourne's inner north to 40,049 km² in the Mallee. The number of Neighbourhood Houses in each network also varies greatly from seven in the Southwest (an area of over 23,000 km²) to 72 in the greater southern metropolitan region.

We appreciate the ongoing support of the Victorian State Government.

Neighbourhood Houses Victoria acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands across Victoria. We pay our respects to their spirits, ancestors, elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members past, present and emerging.

Neighbourhood Houses combat social isolation and loneliness by being accessible, non-threatening and inclusive spaces that welcome people from all walks of life. Everyone is invited, no matter their gender, age, race, sexuality, abilities, culture or religion.
