The iconic ‘Heart House’ brand of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria has had a makeover, with a new design launched this week.

The familiar logo has become an established symbol for the sector over the last 17 years. This refresh maintains the heart of that design, but with a more modern take.

Members were involved at each stage of the process. In 2019, members supported the idea of refreshing the existing logo rather than developing an entirely new design. This year, 240 members voted on a poll to help select their favourite design.

Interim CEO Cameron MacRae said, “The new design incorporates some of the feedback we received from members, and we believe we have hit that sweet spot of modernising our brand while retaining our DNA which has served us over many years.

“The aim now will be to increase recognisability of the new logo and strengthen our state-wide brand. Every one of our 400 members and local councils can help play a part in that."

NHVic President Shima Ibuki wanted to thank everyone who participated in the process.

“We encourage our members to include the new sector logo where you can and hope that - particularly to the many Houses who have asked us to modernise our branding over the years - that you are happier to acknowledge your membership of your peak body in your marketing.”

The refreshed branding comes at an opportune time for Neighbourhood Houses Victoria as it heads into State Election campaign mode, launches a new strategic plan, and welcomes a new CEO.
